Bleeding and Healing Karachi
Last September, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif paid a visit to Karachi to observe himself the actual situation of Karachi, the financial hub of Pakistan. In consultation with the law-enforcement agencies, he approved the urgently required strategy to curb violence. It was then decided to start a broad-spectrum operation against all those who are involved in any kind of criminal activity. It was also decided during his visit that the operation against the criminals would be without any discrimination or distinction and no political or religious group would be allowed to mar the sanctity of it in any case. The targeted operation in Karachi is going on rapidly with a lot of success and achievements. The security agencies have recently prepared a report on previous five month’s results regarding the operation. The report says, around 601 suspects were arrested out of which 213 were wanted; 153 were arrested in target killing cases and 71 were arrested in kidnapping for ransom cases. The report revealed that incidents of target killing were reduced by 56% while murders and street crimes were reduced by 30% since the operation began. The sole aim of this operation is to make Pakistan a peacefully prosperous country as most of the Islamic countries are facing the ever worst consequences of terrorism.
It is today very unfortunate that we don’t have even a single Islamic country which could be called a terrorism-free state. Every Islamic country is fighting against some militant organization and all such organizations claim of struggling for the supremacy of Islam. These organizations are using Muslims as a tool to materialize their plans. In short the whole of the Muslim community has been pushed into an inferno of misunderstandings and confusions. Almost two decades back when different Muslim militant organizations emerged out at the scenario, it was being expected that these militant organizations would give the anti-Muslim world a real tough time and that these organizations would take the anti-Muslim world to task for the exploitation of the Muslims but all these expectations proved mere assumptions. The Muslim militant organizations could do no harm to the anti-Muslim world rather they started targeting various Muslim communities and Muslim countries. The militant activities of these organizations became so horrible that even so many Muslim countries had to ban them within their boundaries. According to a news-report UAE listed and banned over 80 Muslim ‘terrorist’ groups in the 2nd week of November 2014. The list included Al-Qaeda, the Islamic State (IS), the Muslim Brotherhood, Yemen’s Shiite Huthi militia, Nigeria’s Boko Haram, Afghanistan’s Taliban and so many other organizations from Libya, Tunisia, Mali and Pakistan. In such a horrible situation people have started thinking whether these militant organizations really belong to the Muslims. However, it is also a common notion that all of these militant organizations are searching for a piece of land to stand on where they could propagate their own ideology and popularize their own philosophy. The terrorists must try to understand that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam. It is a precious blessing for the Muslims who desire to lead their life according to the peaceful teachings of Islam; how could it be handed-over to the terrorists so that they may use it as a safe haven for their brutal activities. If the terrorists were really the Muslims, they would have aimed at the countries and the nations which are always hostile to the Muslims; they would never have targeted the mosques and shrines and already exploited, crushed and trampled Muslims.
