DG ISPR unfolded Terrorists’ Attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda
DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa while briefing media disclosed in Peshawar that five terrorists have been arrested from Charsadda and surrounding. These facilitators have helped those terrorists who attacked innocent students of Bacha Khan University in Charsadda on 20 January 2016. In this attack 21 people were killed and more than 60 were injured. According to DG ISPR the operation has been controlled by Commander Omer from Afghan soil and they were trained in Taliban controlled border area of Afghanistan, reached Charsadda while travelling in private transport. The terrorist Adil assisted in reconnaissance of the target area. His wife and niece provided support in carrying weapons. 10 calls during the terrorists attack have been made from Afghanistan. DG ISPR emphasized on the need of unity against militancy and categorically sounded that Pakistan Armed Forces are determined to eliminate all kind of terrorism from the country.
Meanwhile, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif is chairing a special meeting at Corps Headquarters in Peshawar to review overall security situation, DG ISPR Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa reported. Corps commander, operation commanders, DG ISI, DG MI, MO and ISPR have attended meeting.
