Pakistan Cricket: Afridi blames Misbah for exclusion
Shahid Afridi has alledged Pakistan’s one-day cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq for his exception from the Champions Trophy squad, and has vowed to return to the national team.
Afridi told the media on Wednesday that “It’s the captain’s decision to drop me.”
The veteran of 354 limited-overs internationals also says it’s “no big deal” for him if a captain doesn’t want a certain player in the team.
In announcing the squad earlier this week, selectors said Afridi, who has scored 7,201 and taken 348 wickets in ODIs, was left out due to his recent form in ODIs.
Former skipper Afridi says he will quit international cricket the day he feels he is a burden on the team, but “I know I could represent Pakistan for a few more years.”
