US/NATO-ISAF imperialism and Drone Attacks ignite Wars NOT Peace
UNITED NATIONS (PUFF Press Release) – On Friday, 29 November 2013, from 3 PM to 5 PM, over 70 Pakistani-Americans and White-Americans protested against the U.S. illegal drone missile attacks on innocent Pakistani children, women and men in KPK and FATA, Pakistan; Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, Algeria and some other Arab, Muslim, or African countries of the world. Men, women, children, students, youth and senior citizens participated in the protest rally against the US unlawful drone strikes, which was organized by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI – Justice Movement – PTI USA – PTI New York), Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP), Pakistan USA Freedom Forum (PUFF), Tehreek-e-Mohasba (TM – Accountability Movement), International Action Center (IAC), CODEPINK (Women for Peace), World Can’t Wait (WCW), and Advocates for Peace and Social Justice (APSJ).
During the last 10 days, in accordance with a new anti-war policy announced in November 2013 by PTI Chairman Imran Khan (MNA), thousands of Pakistani people have blocked highways in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan to stop all the NATO-ISAF illegal war supplies unlawfully transported by trucks from Pakistan to illegally Occupied Afghanistan. Pakistani people were forced to take these anti-war actions because American rulers/politicians refused to stop the US unalwful drone attacks on innocent Pakistanis and failed to accept the PTI demand that the US must NOT violate or rape Pakistan’s sovereignty by the US illegal drone strikes on this South Asian nuclear weapons country.
Over the last 12 years, hundreds of protestors (who were stopping trucks) have been killed and injured by armed guards protecting the NATO-ISAF convoys. Thousands of trucks/trailers have illegally transported NATO-ISAF illegal war supplies almost every day during 2001 to 2013, which killed, injured, tortured, terrorized and victimized millions of innocent Afghans and Pakistanis in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The US CIA covert drone war has killed more than 5,000 innocent children, women and men in Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia, according to The Bureau of Investigative Journalism (BIJ) based in London, UK. Amnesty International, in its recent report stated that “these [US drone missile attacks] and other strikes have resulted in unlawful killings that may constitute extrajudicial executions or war crimes.” Besides Pakistan and Afghanistan, the US CIA is now also carrying out illegal drone strikes in Yemen and Somalia, which have killed thousands of Pakistanis, Afghans, Arabs, Muslims and Africans (humans). It is also misusing unarmed US drones along the US-Mexico border. Various police departments of America, including Commissioner Ray Kelly’s NYPD, plan to use drones in US cities to terrify Americans and to create the fear of drones in the hearts/minds of the American people.
PUFF is proud of the fact that Pakistani-Americans and people of conscience in America were the first to protest against the US illegal drone crimes, when many NGOs were simply writing reports and various government watchdog agencies refused to raise the drone issue. We are also defending the sovereignty of Pakistan and urging the US, UK and the UN (especially UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon) to implement/enforce the United Nations Charter and the UN international laws to stop the US illegal drone attacks on innocent peoples of Asia and Africa.
PUFF supports all those anti-war or peace-loving peoples who have been calling for solving international problems by peace talks or through diplomacy. We hope that all global conflicts involving Western imperialistic nations will lead to durable peace agreements. Indeed, the US/NATO foreign policies should not be made just to create a temporary balance of power with Russia or China, to rob natural resources or other national assets of Asian, African and South American nations. Policies and agreements must be based on respect for national sovereignty of other countries, which has been a major demand of developing countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Iran, Syria, Somalia and Cuba. We hope the US will finally talk with Cuba after more than 50 years since the Cuban revolution. The US history includes dropping atom bombs on Japanese/humans in Japan, invading Vietnam, threatening Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Iran and other nations. The US or Israel’s nuclear power does not give it the moral authority to say that Iran’s behavior is not good. The US imperialistic actions give an excuse to other countries to justify their bad actions against the working class, minorities and immigrants, or interfere in other countries, such as Australia’s actions against immigrants or France’s interference in Mali. The US Government has a double-standard when it claims to promote democracy, but it wrongly supports kings of Saudi Arabia and other GCC monarchies, corrupt rulers, tyrants, or dictators of an army who looted their nations, such as military dictator ex-General Pervez Musharraf and crook Shaukat Aziz (former Citibank employee) in Pakistan or Arab dictator Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, oppressing peoples under ruthless monarchies, dictatorships, or tyrannies. The US rulers/politicians also hypocritically show their similar double-standards or hypocrisy when they oppose Iran’s nuclear research for energy, but never criticize Israel for deploying its nuclear weapons, which are a very serious threat to America and the rest of the world. The US Government can plan wars and attack other countries overnight, but it has failed to provide affordable health/medical insurance, college/university education, housing, living wages for the American people, or a humane immigration policy even after over 200 years of its independence from the British Monarchy.
Finally, PUFF hopes that the new Pakistan Army Chief of Staff and the new Chief Justice of Pakistan Supreme Court will fully learn/understand how to obey the Constitution of Pakistan. We deeply thank Mr. Liaqat Baloch, General-Secretary of the Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP) political party, who has thanked all overseas Pakistanis for not only sending billions of dollars to Pakistan every year that help its bankrupt economy, but also for helping the Pakistani Nation morally while living in the USA and other countries of planet Earth.
