Policeman beheaded by unknown persons in North Kashmir
Srinagar, July 13: (GNS) In a rare incident of its kind, unknown persons killed a policeman by slashing his throat at Harduna forest area of Vilgam village in frontier district of Kupwara in North Kashmir.
Official sources told Global News Service that Head Constable Sanaullah Zargar, son of Abdul Gani Zargar was killed by militants this morning after he was fetching timber from the nearby forest.
Sanuallah Belt no. 940/F posted at DPL Srinagar had gone to his home on leave where he was killed.
On Saturday morning, Sanuallah left towards nearby forests for fetching logs of timber, sources said, adding that assailants (probably militants) may have found police identity card from his possession thus murdered him.
“Sanaullah left his house at around 9 am on Saturday to collect some logs of timber from Hardoona forests. He didn’t return till late afternoon. We tried to contact him on his mobile phone but it was switched off,” a relative of Sanaullah told GNS.
Later on, the family members searched for him and found his body in the nearby forests in a pool of blood.
The death has sent shockwaves in entire Hardoona and its adjoining areas. “The death have created panic in our area,” Abdul Gaffar Bhat, a local resident said.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations. (GNS)
