21 gun salutes on 67th Independence day of Pakistan
KARACHI, Aug 14 (APP): The day dawned with 21 gun salutes in the metropolis to mark the 67th Independence day of Pakistan on Wednesday.Thanksgiving prayers were also offered after Namaz-e-Fajar in the mosques at all PN units and establishments for solidarity and prosperity of the nation, said a statement. All naval ships and establishments were decorated and illuminated in Navy’s traditional manner.Various sports fixtures including cricket, swimming, badminton and athletic contests between PN units were also a part of day along celebrations in connection with the Independence day.Commandant Pakistan Naval Academy, Commodore Zahid Illyas also graced change of guards ceremony at the mausoleum of the father of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and laid floral wreath and offered fateha.
