47 Terrorists Beheading is internal issue of Saudi Arabia

According to Saudi Arabian officials of Interior Ministry expressed that 47 terrorists have been executed today for terrorism. The prominent Shia Muslim cleric Nimr al-Nimrits, is amongst executed people. These all individuals were Saudi citizens. According to the sources all of those executed were involved in a series of attacks carried out by al-Qaeda from 2003-06. Earlier, Iran has warned that executing Nimr “would cost Saudi Arabia dearly”. Saudi rejected the Iranian appeals and implemented the awarded punishment to the terrorists. Locals of Saudi Arabia appreciated the stern actions against terrorists. However, many human rights organizations termed the punishment of Nimar al-Nimrits as violations of basic human rights. Iran should act patiently since the beheading the individuals is directly linked to prevailing terrorism and would not be considered as an issue of sectarianism. Notably out of 47 people most of the executed were convicted of al Qaeda attacks in Saudi Arabia a decade ago, but four, including prominent cleric Nimr al-Nimr, were Shi’ite Muslims accused of shooting policemen during anti-government protests in recent years.

Saudi Arab-Iran increasing tension will severely affect the political situation in the region and the South Asian countries too specially Pakistan and Afghanistan. But Pakistan should take careful decision, keeping in view the national interests at top priority agenda. It’s a matter of being hunter or the hunted…Nawaz Sharif government is going to face a dilemma. Moreover, beheading in Saudi Arabia is an internal issue and none of the country should interfere in her policy of elimination of terrorism from the country. For example similar nature of actions have also been taken against Sunni minority by the Iranian authorizes too. According to International human rights groups at different occasions reported that Iran executed over 1,000 people last year – well above the 2014 tally – including preachers and activists from the Islamic Republic’s Sunni minority. These reports indicate that Iranian authorities put to death more than 753 people in the first half of 2015 – an average of four executions a day. Amnesty International stated in July that “executions in Iran could top one thousand in 2015.”

Anyhow, Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) should play its role in resolving issues between Islamic countries particular amongst Iran and Saudi Arabia since both have to work together in elimination of global terrorism. OIC should also call a conference of heads of the states for forcing the members to fight jointly against terrorism and the enemies of Islam. OIC should also force Bangladesh to stop hanging innocent people who did not support Indian sponsored war against Pakistan due to their indifference opinion about separation of the country. Bangladeshi government should remember that every human has the basic right of agreeing or disagreeing with the political thoughts and under international law cannot be forced upon to blindly accept or others’ opinion.

Similarly, Saudi Arabian government needs to cover up the gap between ruling elite and the public. People’s opinion should be respected instead suppressing the voices and the basic human rights of other communities. Islamic countries need to resolve their differences and display unity to fight the universal ongoing battle against all kind of terrorism.
