According to ISPR press release a Pakistani soldier embraced Shahdat (martyred) and another seriously injured in “unprovoked” firing by Indian troops from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the disputed region of Kashmir.

The incident took place on Rawlakot’s Nezapir sector near the LoC at about 10:30 am on Saturday. Soldier Asim Iqbal was killed in the firing and soldier Naik Mohammad Khan was critically wounded. Kashmir is disputed territory which has become the bone of contention between two regional nuclear powers. They have have fought three wars over it.India is regularly violating ceasefire along the LoC. In this regard number of times Pakistan launched protests to UN-observers placed both for monitoring both side of Loc. Tensions spiked between New Delhi and Islamabad early this year when a total of six soldiers were killed in exchanges along the de facto border in Kashmir. Four of the soldiers killed were from Pakistan while two were from India. Later on, one of the Indians was beheaded allegedly by Pakistanis, a charge rejected by Islamabad.

In June 2013, two high-speed Indian aircraft violated the Pakistani airspace by intruding three nautical miles in Attari, Fazilka sector.

As per Pakistan Air Force (PAF) spokesperson, the aircraft stayed inside Pakistani airspace for about two minutes. He said that the PAF initiated prompt tactical actions and scrambled two fighter aircraft to challenge the intruders. Upon PAF actions, Indian aircraft exited the Pakistani airspace. The Foreign Ministry has conveyed serious concern to the Indian High Commission over the airspace violation by the Indian aircraft.

It said Pakistan considers the airspace violation as a contravention of the “1991 Agreement between Pakistan and India on Prevention of Air Space Violations and for Permitting over Flights and Landings by Military Aircraft”.

While voicing its concerns with India, Pakistan called upon it to respect all existing agreements and CBMs that have been reached between the two countries.

In fact Indian aggressive posture is extremely dangerous to regional and global peace. The aim of her defense spending is supplementing US objective of containment of China. Sir Lanka, Bangladesh, Tibet, Nepal and Pakistan are RAW’s targets since their inceptions.

The unprovoked Indian firing and continuous supporting militancy is going to damage the newly elected Pakistani government efforts to normalize the relations between two countries. Therefore, UN should come forward to resolve the Kashmir and water issues between Pakistan and India for establishing permanent peace.
