PM seeks provinces’ feedback on counter-terrorism policy


KARACHI, Aug 1 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said a comprehensive counter-terrorism policy would be devised based on the feedback of provinces on the issue of militancy. Talking to media persons after his visit to the Quaid’s mausoleum, the Prime Minister said he had directed all the four Chief Ministers to workout the issue of terrorism within the domain of their provinces.He said the Chief Ministers were also asked to form necessary committees and prepare draft of reforms, which he said would be taken up later at a federal-level meeting on security. Prime Minister Sharif said it would take some time to arrive at a strong strategy against terrorism that would aim at raising a counter-terrorism force, fighting militancy and ensuring effective policing.
