Why Is India Being ‘Kicked Around’ Internationally?

By Balbir Singh Sooch-Sikh Vichar Manchindian-parliament

The Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley made   hard hitting remarks, ‘India is being kicked around internationally’ may not be said so lightly and without political reason.

Though, Mr.Arun Jaitley must have done so on foreign policy of India to let down the government of United Parties Alliance (UPA) keeping in mind to take the advantage of the coming Lok Sabha elections-2014 without noticing its demerits internationally for India.

To my mind, the remarks are no way proving for the advantage of India and to the disadvantage of Pakistan.

There are three functionaries or forces, ‘Democratic civil society, the military and the militants (extremists)’ matter in running the country, our neighbour, Pakistan. Military has check and balancing powers there to run the establishment of Pakistan.

What could the Sikh Vichar Manch derive out from one TV Channel debate about our foreign policy on March 15, 2013 at about 2115 hrs to 2230 hrs (IST) and knew that the foreign diplomacy was not as poor as being talked with Pakistan?

But, Mr. Arun Jaitley may be correct only in the context that India has no friendly relations with any of its neighbours and could not become a big brother or boss in Indian sub-continent and instead, he is admitting rather confessing that India is being ‘Kicked Around’ internationally and there is being something seriously wrong with the manner in which external affairs is run.

What to talk of normalising ties with neighbours, on the front of internal affairs, India is also being mismanaged and the Indian minorities are feeling discriminated in India and openly known to all! Mr. Arun Jaitley understands very well the reasons and background to this hatred.   Though, nothing is desirable to do so secretively in a democratic country as was done in case of Mohammad Afzal Guru’s execution. The government seems not only to have been failed to achieve its political end, but also exposed and defamed by this nefarious act. The cool minded matured persons sitting in the Indian establishment realized that to hang Afzal Guru in the manner for the ulterior motive was a blunder.

The blunder was committed on provocation of main opposition party and to supersede the party in opposition to have political mileage in the coming Lok Sabha elections 2014. The peaceful process between the countries and the balance of Machiavelli’s political necessity for the rulers of both the countries including Kashmir disturbed. In fact, the political immaturity of India stands exposed.

Whenever, the present main opposition party comes to power behaves more weakly and softly in the field of foreign diplomacy as was experienced in the past during its tenure and examples were quoted to that effect during the debate-discussion.

The equilibrium of democratic civil society of Pakistan (democratic set up of Pakistan) was totally imbalanced by the Indian political blunder, “Afzal Guru was given the death sentence on the basis that “the incident, which resulted in heavy casualties, had shaken the entire nation, and the collective conscience of the society will only be satisfied if capital punishment is awarded to the offender” and further to satisfy the same, he was hanged hurriedly and secretively.

The Indian media was posing to be aggressive against Pakistan holding him guilty to cover up our own blunder, but all in vain.

For the reason, the peace process is delayed, but same might be inching towards the solutions of the problems including ‘THE VEXED PROBLEM OF KASHMIR’ between the countries, behind and despite the terror scenes and all hard postures of politicians and of the media, as already said, as it looked from the friendly contents of the latest interview of General Pervez Musharraf with Barkha; NDTV- by giving up their old policy of Machiavelli’s political necessity.

And also Pakistan and India passed resolutions against each other on Thursday, March 14, 2013 and on Friday, March 15, 2013 respectively to calm or to befool their own countrymen like the practice going on since long at the cost of the lives of brave soldiers defending our borders under very poor living conditions logistically and otherwise in bad weather.

The utterances of Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh must not be taken so lightly and ignorantly in this modern and nuclear age about walking an extra mile in normalising ties with Pakistan, also with other neighbours.

It is in the knowledge of all nuclear powers in the world that in this nuclear age, in case of war, nobody will know as to who was the aggressor?
