Second of November 2014 has brought sadness for families of those patriotic innocent children; women and people who became victims of a foreign sponsored suicidal bomber. They were hit by the terrorist when they were returning from the venue after witnessing the famous Indo-Pak flag-lowering ceremony at   Wagha border. In this suicidal blast at least 62 innocent people, including two Rangers personnel and children, were killed.  The bodies were severely damaged since suicidal used ball bearings and explosive in suicidal jacket.

According to, Punjab DG Rangers Maj Gen Tahir Javed Khan the suicide attacker blew up himself when he was 500-600 yards away from the parade ground because of elaborate security arrangement. He further clarified that as per Rangers official, the suicide bomber was standing near the first scanner and he could not breach security.

Meanwhile, just after the explosion the race for claiming the responsibility of blast was started between the banned organizations like TTP and Jandullah . In this connection, TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan, based in Afghanistan, stated that it was carried out by one of their men—some other groups’ claims are baseless. We will soon release the video of this attack.” He explained, “This attack was revenge against the military operation in North Waziristan. Whereas, Jundullah group claimed that attack was carried out by Qari Hanif, terrorist of their group and it was a reaction to military operation Zarb-i-Azb.

President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, COAS, Former President Zardari, PPP Chairperson Bilwal and PTI Chief Imran Khan have expressed grief over the loss of precious lives in the blast. In separate statements, they expressed sympathy with bereaved families.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and sought report from the administration and police authorities.

In fact, all these terrorists groups and organizations are having foreign connections and operating inside Pakistan to foment terrorism. These militants are targeting armed forces and government functionaries, anti-polio workers, airports, markets, schools, parks, mosques, Imambargahs, churches, temples, shrines, bus stops, railway stations, and passengers’ trains. Thus, they are just using the name of Islam to deceive and misguide the innocent mindset. Actually, all segments of society including religious scholars have condemned the terrorist actions and supporting Pakistani armed forces in elimination of militancy from the country.

Moreover, Islam does not allow such type of actions against innocent women, children and people. The Chief Mufti of Saudi Arabi mufti (Mufti-e-Azam),Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah al-Sheikh issued a Fatwa (Religious verdict) asserting that suicide attacks are illegal and illegitimate (Haram).” He explained, “Such acts fall under the category of crime and suicide bombers or attackers are destined to go to Hell…they represent an adversary of Islam and enemy of Muslims and they commit crimes against humanity, while misguiding other Muslims, especially the innocent youth.

Anyhow, Pakistani Armed Forces have mounted full scale operation in Wazirstan and Swat and gained elaborated victories against the militants. According to South Asian Terror Portal since 2003 Pakistani Security Forces killed 29254 terrorists and eradicated many terrorists’ camps. While eradicating terrorism in various actions 19633 civilians and 5966 security personnel were martyred since 2003. In fact, terrorists have been disappointed now and divided into small groups. Some terrorists groups are based in Afghanistan and being trained by Indian leading intelligence agency RAW. Pakistan has many times pointed out that Afghan rulers take actions against militants operating from Afghan territory but probably they are not interested in stopping them since spreading terrorism in Pakistan is part of their grand design.

However, there is a need to take perfect security measures to defeat terrorism and foreign sponsored militancy. The recent blast near Wagha Border should be probed by the joint investigation team comprising officers from the police, ISI, Rangers, Special Branch and Counter Terrorism Department as soon as possible. I would also like to appreciate those martyred rangers, personnel who laid their lives and save disaster at the main parade venue.

Nevertheless, on the next day of the blast Pakistan people again witnessed the flag-lowering ceremony and sent the message to the terrorists and across too that they are determined to defeat all kind of terrorism whether local or sponsored by our adversary.

In this context, DG, ISPR Directorate, Major-Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa had stated, “Armed forces of Pakistan have launched the operation against foreign and local terrorists…who had been waging a war against the state of Pakistan by disrupting our national life in all its dimensions…with the support of the entire nation, these enemies will be denied space across the country.”

In a tweet regarding terror-attack at Wagah border, Maj-Gen. Asim Bajwa also stated on November 3 that the massive attendance with fervor during the flag ceremony at Wagah border has proved that nation was not afraid of these terrorists and it was united in its fight against terrorism.

Notably, Lt Gen Zaman Commander Lahore Corps expressed grief over the loss of innocent lives and offered condolences to the bereaved families. He also praised the resolve of ‘Zinda Dilaan-e-Lahore’ and attended the Flag-lowering Ceremony. At this occasions Director General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Maj Gen Khan Tahir Javid Khan, GCO Maj Gen Aamir Abbasi, Maj Gen Fida Hussain Malik, CCPO Captain (retd) Amin Wain and other senior officials and many civilians including women and children were also present there . In short Pakistani nation is now standing with her security forces to defeat already disappointed terrorists.
